I’m going to be totally and embarrassingly honest here and admit it’s a long time since I’ve experienced such joy from reading short stories. From the first page, this lovingly produced little book totally charmed me.
Witty yet simple, complex yet elegant, Mike never uses twenty words where four will tell the tale. Yet this is deep stuff. It says more in a few small lines than many paragraphs of descriptive scene telling might.
As for the stories, some liberate, amuse and inspire, such as “Terry Takes A Dip” and “Up”. Others are thought provoking or sinister, otherworldly and disturbing, such as “The Diaries of Sun City”…But no extract or review can do justice to this little book.”
